Rangers 1 Newcastle United 1 (Friendly) 6th August 2013

Big Jig opened the scoring for Rangers from the penalty spot

RANGERS put the club’s off-field problems behind them as they turned in a good performance and drew 1-1 with Newcastle United at Ibrox.

Lee McCulloch’s penalty gave the Scottish League One title title favourites a sixth-minute lead and they competed well in an encouraging first-half display.

Rangers Legends 4 Man Utd Legends 1 (Charity Match) 6th May 2013

ALLY McCOIST stole the show as only he can with an excellent double as Rangers Legends beat their Manchester United counterparts 4-1 at Ibrox.

In an enjoyable charity match, Ronny Johnsen put the visitors ahead with a well-worked goal in the early stages.

Rangers 1 Berwick 0 (SFL3) 4th May 2013

Rangers SFL3 League Champions 2012/13

RANGERS completed their historic campaign in SFL3 with a 1-0 victory over Ian Little’s Berwick on a memorable day at Ibrox Stadium.

A Fraser Aird header in the first half gave the Light Blues their 25th win of the season but the result was almost irrelevant as 50,048 – a world record for a fourth tier league fixture – created a party atmosphere on the day the Third Division trophy will be held aloft.

Rangers 2 Clyde 0 (SFL3) 13th April 2013

Big Jig opened the scoring for Rangers

RANGERS made it a clean sweep of four wins from four league matches against Clyde this season thanks to a 2-0 victory at Ibrox.

Lee McCulloch and Kyle Hutton’s second half strikes were enough to secure the win in the Light Blues’ first competitive outing at home since clinching the title.

Clyde 0 Rangers 2 (SFL3) 28th October 2012

Dean Shiels stunner set Rangers on the way to a 2-0 victory

RANGERS recorded their first away win in the Scottish Third Division with Jim Duffy’s Clyde suffering a 2-0 defeat to the league leaders.

After taking four points from four games on the road the Light Blues produced a solid performance on Broadwood’s artificial surface with Dean Shiels and Lee McCulloch getting the all important goals on 16 and 80 minutes respectively.

Rangers 2 Motherwell 0 (League Cup Rd3) 26th September 2012

Big Jog rises high to open the scoring for Rangers against SPL leaders Motherwell

THIS might not have been an SPL fixture, nor was it a game which determines anything will be won this season, but for Rangers fans it was about just one thing: retribution.

Ibrox has been the stage for many memorable nights over the years as the likes of Juventus, Bayern Munich, Parma, Borussia Dortmund and PSV Eindhoven have come to town and lost.

Rangers 4 Montrose 1 (SFL3) 23rd September 2012

Much better performance from Rangers as they rise to see of Montrose

IT MAY not have been the champagne performance with which Ally McCoist would have liked to celebrate his birthday but the Rangers boss will be relieved to end his 50th year with victory.

For large spells his side produced a vastly improved performance from the one that saw them beaten on penalties by Queen of the South five days earlier.

Annan Athletic 0 Rangers 0 (SFL3) 15th September 2012

RANGERS’ away jinx struck yet again as they failed to breach Annan’s goal and dropped points on the road for the third consecutive game.

The Light Blues had enough possession and chances to win a couple of matches and should really have returned north with a victory under their belts.
